There are also new characters, although these unfortunately represent a tendency towards rather hokey Southern Gothic which has become apparent in later Cornwell: including a wild psychiatrist called Dr Self, the creepy funeral director Lucious Meddick and a grotesque femme fatale by the name.
For those who like their crime detailed and their investigation CSI-likewise, Cornwell continues to deliver.
